The reader could have the client hold the egg and clasp their hands over the client's for a bit of meditation and trust building as well.Īnd then also has this really awesome ritual tidbit to share too:
#Just crack an egg southwest full#
It might be a good idea for the reader and client to sit and talk over the egg for a while, so that the egg really absorbs the full issue and the client feels more relief through getting everything off the chest as well. TD has a great suggestion here, on getting your / the client's energy into the egg: You might just pray or speak over it, asking the question at hand and for clarity in interpretation. You might hold it to your third eye so that you can understand the reading clearly. If you're reading to diagnose the metaphysical state of someone, you can rub it over them as in a limpia, but that's not required. It needs to be a clear glass, no tint or designs on the glass if at all possible, so that you can see the egg from all directions without distortion. Next, you want a decent sized glass of room-temp water. Why do you want it room temp? Because if it's cold, the parts of the egg won't move easily, limiting the results you can get. Letting it sit out overnight is best, but an hour or so on the counter will do the trick. In the US at least, that means letting it sit out to come to room temperature. They're great points, as far as I'm concerned, and to give credit where it's due, I'm going to mark them with "(TD)" (for "TheDead").įirst things first: you need to get an egg and get it ready. I've included some tips, ideas, and interpretation points from u/TheDeadSpeakToMe711 that were made on another post. You should read and think critically for yourself, in other words. You can ignore them if they don't match up with your understanding / worldview, but I can't be exact about all the ways my view affects the method.

This is my system, so it reflects some of my beliefs. Consider this an intro to Graidan's Oomancy aka Groomancy :) I'd like to summarize and generalize so that anyone could read, and introduce a few features from another divination system to make it a bit more useful. Methods vary greatly - it can be reading the shapes formed whites or smashing the eggs against something, by the chick that hatches, by putting the eggs in a glass of water and interpreting shapes, by breaking onto a plate and reading by positions of distinct features.ĭifferent traditions will have different meanings for the various features that appear, and often a different process for the whole bit. That the contents are generally hidden before you break them (you could cheat by candling, of course) helps as well. There is a long history of egg reading globally (Greece, Scotland, Salem, South America, Vikings, Asia, and so on) probably mostly due to the fact that eggs are generally cheap to come by.
